Chris Hartless: If I had to be Awake and Something to Say about Living

Life is constantly evolving, difficult to predict, and chaotic. On a daily basis, we are confronted with challenges that we must overcome and by doing so, we change with the present moment. This ability to adapt is necessary for survival and a determinant factor in our ability to thrive. In this talk, I will highlight philosophical views of happiness, while also addressing some general findings from human and animal research.

Rajat Sharma: Perceived Product Gender and Sustainable Behavior

Consumers frequently associate brands and products with gendered characteristics based on design elements such as color, typography, and shape. While prior research has examined the impact of gendered brand cues on consumer perceptions, their influence on pro-environmental behavior remains unclear. My studies, suggest that products perceived as feminine (vs. masculine) elicit stronger recycling intentions. These findings offer insights for marketers and policymakers on leveraging brand gender cues to promote sustainability.
